What’s your mission? Jesus gave us the great co-mission. It is a mission we share together. It is to make disciples of all nations (see Matthew 28:19-20)
Your church may have a mission statement. At our church, our mission is to KNOW Jesus, GROW as his followers, and GO out as missionaries into the world.
This website has a mission. It is to build faith, answer a higher calling, and experience a more abundant life.
Your employer may have a mission. You may be part of a group or organization that has a mission.
Having a mission is a good thing. It gives you direction. So what's your mission? Why are you here? What unique contribution do you make in the world?
A mission gives clarity. A mission helps you say no to other things that don't fit your mission. It gives you a filter to make better decisions in life.
A mission will fuel you. It gives you a reason to get out of bed each morning. It will give you hope even in the most difficult of moments.
A mission will challenge you. It will stretch you to reach outside of your comfort zone. A mission will lead you to rely on God.
A mission will bring others to support you. A mission worth accomplishing will benefit others. Maybe the reason you feel isolated is because you are not living out your mission. People will be drawn to a person who is living out a godly mission. They will seek to help and be a part of what God is doing.
You may be wondering what your mission is – check out the posts from the last two days. Find some balcony time to pray and to connect with God. Ask how you can live for God in all the areas of your life.
Sometimes you may not know what your mission is, but that is no excuse to do nothing. Try a few things out. I would never have guessed that my mission was involved writing on the internet to encourage other people. I just started writing, and God prospered it. He quickly confirmed this was what I needed to be doing.
One principle I learned a long time ago was not to try to figure out what you want to do and then ask God to bless it. Instead, look around and see what God is already blessing, and then look to follow his lead.
Take some time. Consider where your passion lies, what God is prospering, and a need that that is unmet. Somewhere in the middle of those things lies a mission to which God is leading you. So what’s your mission?

Is it too late to begin a mission? NEVER. God has His timing, and how can that be late? I am learning as I go along – Share&Care will be a new email or facebook ministry at the church I attend – and I’m the one (along with God’s help) who is getting it started. Did I mention I’m 66? – I must be on the Mother Road. Thank you, Pastor Phil. Your daily writings are important to so many. Bless you, as you continue to be a blessing to others.

I have helped write a mission statement for my church and for my school, however I never thought about a mission statement on a personal level. A couple years ago I heard the song, “Nothing More,” by the Alternate Routes. I immediately made the lyrics my mantra. I put the lyrics and song on my website and asked my friends to hold me accountable to living out the lyrics. So, I guess the song will also serve as my mission statement. I would encourage anyone reading this to listen to this awesome song (verse 3 is my favorite).
“Nothing More,” by the Alternate Routes
To be humble, to be kind.
It is the giving of the peace in your mind.
To a stranger, to a friend
To give in such a way that has no end.
We are Love
We are One
We are how we treat each other when the day is done.
We are Peace
We are War
We are how we treat each other and Nothing More
To be bold, to be brave.
It is the thinking that the heart can still be saved
And the darkness can come quick
The danger’s in the anger and the hanging on to it.
We are Love
We are One
We are how we treat each other when the day is done.
We are Peace
We are War
We are how we treat each other and Nothing More
Tell me what it is that you see
A world that’s filled with endless possibilities?
Heroes don’t look like they used to, they look like you do.
We are Love
We are One
We are how we treat each other when the day is done.
We are Peace
We are War
We are how we treat each other and Nothing More
