But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9, ESV)
Many of you have discovered my website through the 40 Things to Give up for Lent Post and the book that I wrote. Last year, I published a new series called the 40 Things NOT to give up for Lent. I am excited to share that I will soon be releasing this second series as a book. I will be sharing more details about this in the days and weeks to come.
Thank you for being a follower on my blog and mailing list. It has been such a blessing to hear from so many of you from so many different places. I am encouraged that what I have shared has encouraged and helped so many. The mailing list peaked at over 12,000 people a few months back. I could have never imagined having such a reach.
As we approach another season of Lent, it is a time I am led to contemplate and consider where God is guiding this work. It was the season of Lent that originally opened the door for such a great opportunity. As the season draws near again, I have been thinking about the future of this ministry and where God might be leading me to take this. I covet your prayers as I seek that vision.
I desire to do more for the kingdom. I pray for greater effectiveness in discipling others to know and follow Jesus. I sense that the work that has been done has been a good work. But I pray for and sense a greater work that might bring about some change. Change can be fearful. It can make us uncomfortable. But if that change is from God, then it ought to be something to be embraced.
I want to invite you to join me in praying for this upcoming season of Lent. Pray for God to transform hearts and minds. Also, pray that it will be a holy season where all of us will be more attentive to God’s voice and be able to discern his guidance and direction.
Pastor Ressler, you have touched my heart and life in so many ways. I will keep you in my prayers as you are waiting to see where God leads you. I look forward to reading your blog everyday. I would miss them but maybe God has a new path for you. You’re in my prayers. Marsha Dillon
Pastor Ressler, I have enjoyed your daily readings and you have a gift of communicating scripture in a voice I understand. Thank you for sharing on this platform. You’re in my prayers. Lent is the most special season for me. I look forward to time in my dessert for discernment and God’s will. May you hear God’s calling in yours. Sue
I am so deeply grateful for your words that are part of my morning routine. You have enlightened me and challenged me in many ways. I have shared your articles with friends, family, coworkers and church leaders over the years. I must admit I am selfishly anxious that your blog may come to an end. However, you have and will continue to do His work in such an effective manner, that I cheer you on to where God is calling you. I will be forever thankful for your ministry.
