“Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.”” (Matthew 28:7, ESV)
The angel tells the women to go quickly and tell the disciples that Jesus has risen. He says go and he says go quickly. There is urgency in the task. Don’t wait.
This was too good of news to keep to themselves. It was news to share now. Why would they not want to share it with their friends? It was news that made all the difference. Jesus was risen.
I am reminded of Robin Williams in Dead Poet’s Society when he says, “Carpe Diem.” It means seize the day. It was a message similar to the angel. There will only be one “today.” This is it. You will not get this moment back. You have one life to live. There is no guarantee of tomorrow. Live with urgency.
Some people will spend their life putting off. And at the end of their life, they look back with regret. Make it your ambition to live a no-regrets life. That means go quickly. Stop making excuses. There is always opportunities to make excuses.
What is it that you have been putting off? Put it on your calendar, start saving, find the courage, say yes, go quickly! Jesus is going before you to make a way. This is your day. Make it happen.
