I would like to share with you a free countdown timer for LCMS Churches.
Good Shepherd begins each Sunday morning live-stream with a 10-minute pre-service countdown. This allows people time to access the feed before worship begins, so they do not miss anything. During the pre-service, we show announcements and other videos. I will also make sure to throw in a few drone videos to make it as engaging as possible.
One of the things I made sure to do from the very beginning was to include a countdown timer so that people would know how long before service began. When I first started doing this at the beginning of the pandemic, I knew very little about Final Cut. I watched a few YouTube videos and was able to create a very rudimentary timer. As time has gone on, I have grown with my Final Cut skills. I have also picked up learning Apple Motion. I am very pleased with the new timer I have made and can add it to the pre-service video with just a few clicks.
Our countdown timer uses our church logo and branding. But I made an additional timer that uses the LCMS cross. If you are an LCMS church that creates a pre-service video and wants to use this countdown timer, you are welcome to use it. You can get the free countdown timer from my dropbox. I have a 10-minute and 5-minute version. It is in 1080p format. When you are editing your pre-service video, simply drop one of these files in as your top-most layer.
I also included the Apple Motion files so that you can further edit if you desire. We also include a news ticker across the bottom, but that is a little more complex to add. You can see some examples from our worship playlist on our YouTube Channel. If you would like a more customized countdown timer, please contact me, and we will see if we can work something out. If you do make use of it, drop me a line. I would love to know if you found this useful. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.
